Luke Events launches first health care program

Luke Events and Entertainment in collaboration with Lanka Hospitals and Vision Care launched its very first CSR health care program titled ‘The healthy workforce initiative’ under the theme ‘A healthy workforce towards greater productivity and efficiency’ with the intention of improving the health of employees in the government and private sectors and thereby contribute towards increasing productivity and efficiency of organisations. This initiative is conducted free of charge at absolutely no cost to employees or organisations. It is needless to say that employee absence due to sickness costs an organisation and the economy in general millions. As such investment in reducing sickness absence and improving the health of workers is so imperative, said the Director CEO of Luke Events Stefan Beekmeyer. The very first Healthy Workforce initiative was conducted for the benefit of the employees of Virtusa at the company’s office premises. 200 employees had the free opportunity to check their blood sugar, body mass index, blood pressure, ECG and eye sight. The doctors advised employees on further action and preventive methods of specific medical conditions.
