Single National Asset Tax (SNAT)

The above article appearing in the Daily FT of Monday the 22nd (I never miss reading the Monday FT) impressed me very much to say the least. I guess the Hon. President’s picture gave it an added impact and an authenticity of a sort, to put it very mildly.

We are sure that there is a lot of research the “Concerned Citizen” has done to produce these valuable details, giving it some authenticity.

Nevertheless, we do not expect that there would be widespread acceptance of the proposition. Surely there will be a heavy attack on the idea by the nation’s 7% of the wealthiest, whereas there will be the acceptance of at least the 60 to 70% of the Poor and Vulnerable, plus the 20 to 28% of those who hold 25 to 30% of the National Wealth.

Estonia’s example is very encouraging for anybody. We believe the proposition is worthy of studying not to waste time but to make it more attractive and a user-friendly proposition to implement very early and achieve the fruits of “not merely to rebuild but reinvent” and capture our goals sooner than expected through whatever other strategies.
