Former Trinity rugby ‘Lion’, Kandy SC, Up Country and National player Isvan Omar passed away in Kandy yesterday.

Isvan played for Trinity College under Ajith Abeyratne (1967 and 1968) and Shafi Jainudeen in his last year in 1969. He played for Kandy SC, Up Country and the National rugby team. He was also the former Secretary of Kandy SC and Chairman of the Singer Sri Lankan Rugby Sevens which commenced in 1999.
