Youth Parliament has organised a petition signing campaign against foreign interference in the country and to safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
The petition signing was launched outside the Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha and is expected to collect 5,000 signatures from Walallawita in Kalutara district. The Youth Parliament has stated that the petition calls for the safeguarding of the country in the face of international pressure.
Members of the Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha have also extended their support to the petition signing campaign.
The campaign has been launched following the presentation of a draft resolution by the US on Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva.
