The Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare organised an island wide programme to felicitate Sri Lankan migrant workers, in line with the International Migrants Day which fell on 18 December. The felicitation ceremony was held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Galle Face Green at 8.30 a.m yesterday where a felicitation stamp and a first day cover was issued. A special electronic card introduced for Sri Lankan migrant workers was issued by the President.
