The Sri Lanka Navy on Wednesday assisted the repatriation of 69 Indian fishermen released by Sri Lankan courts in accordance with an agreement reached by the Governments of the two countries. The Navy handed over the 69 fishermen along with 15 fishing boats to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Vigraha” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurei on Wednesday (29). Sri Lanka Navy Ship “Prathapa”, assisted by Sri Lanka Coast Guard vessels, CG 42 and CG 46, was deployed for the humanitarian mission, the Navy said.
