Remaining IDPs to be resettled before June

The remaining displaced persons in the Settikulam and Menik Farm IDP camps will be resettled before the end of June, Minister of Resettlement Gunaratna Weerakoon stated during the Indian parliamentary delegation’s visit to the camps.

Members of the Indian delegation had questioned the people at the Menik Farm camp about the facilities and the aid they have received from the government, an Ada Derana correspondent reported.

They had also questioned the government officials about the various facilities provided to the people at the camps.

The delegation also focused on the Indian government funded railway line which is being built from Omanthai to Palai.
