The Government yesterday launched the Ranaviru Divi Neguma program with the objective of integrating the family members of war heroes and disabled war heroes into the country’s development process and uplift their living standards.
The Government allocated Rs. 400 million for this scheme through the 2012 Budget. The families of war heroes and disabled soldiers who like to initiate their own projects are given loans not exceeding Rs. 500,000 under this program through the Regional Development Bank.
This program has been launched by the bank along with the Economic Development Ministry and Ranaviru Seva Authority. Over 296 beneficiaries received their funds from Economic Development Minister Basil Rohana Rajapaksa.
