 In a statement, the embassy said it wishes that the efficient and speedy measures taken by the Lankan Government and its armed forces to rescue the distressed, treat the injured and mitigate further damage would help the people of Sri Lanka overcome this difficult time and establish normalcy in the affected areas.
Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Chang Won-sam met with Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera on 1 November at the ministry and handed over a cheque worth Rs. 2.23 million as a contribution towards the emergency relief efforts, especially for the children who lost their parents.
The Korean embassy wishes a speedy recovery to those injured and hopes that the affected villages will soon be reconstructed.
