Joint Opposition says no room for hybrid court

The joint Opposition yesterday conducted a public summit to express its views on the proposed hybrid court concept and stressed that it would never allow it to be implemented when it is tabled in Parliament.

The party leaders of the joint Opposition, including National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader MP Wimal Weerawansa, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) Leader MP Udaya Gammanpila, Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) Leader  MP Dinesh Gunawardena, Communist Party General Secretary D.E.W. Gunasekara, Democratic Left Front (DLF) General Secretary  MP Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) Secretary Tissa Vitharana, were seen at the front of the stage at the Viharamahadevi Open Air Theatre yesterday.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Parliamentarians Bandula Gunawardena, Namal Rajapaksa, Dallas Alahapperuma and several former ministers were also present at the event.
