Government requests to US to lift travel advise on Sri Lanka

The Ministry of External Affairs has requested the United States to lift its travel advisory on Sri Lanka. A discussion with regard to this was held this week between Sri Lankan officials and US Embassy officials at the External Affairs Ministry. At this meeting the Sri Lankan officials had informed US representatives why Sri Lanka should be removed from such advisory. The External Affairs Ministry officials think that the US representatives are satisfied with their submission and they would make representations to the State Department this regard.
