FCID grills Shasheendra Rajapaksa

The Police’s Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) last morning recorded a statement from the former Chief Minister of the Uva Province Shasheendra Rajapaksa over the allegedly misuse of two luxury coaches belonging to the Foreign Ministry that were utilised during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). It is reported that these two super luxury coaches that were recently left abandoned at the External Affairs Ministry car park were used by several prominent politicians during the rule of the former regime for their personal activities. Several photographs have recently surfaced on the internet showing Shasheendra Rajapaksa, who is the son of Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, and his family using one of the buses for a family excursion. These two super luxury coaches are believed to have been imported to Sri Lanka to provide transport for VIPs who participated in the CHOGM summit held in the country in 2013. After the 2015 presidential election the two coaches suddenly reappeared at the External Affairs Ministry car park following their disappearance after the conclusion of CHOGM.
