Emirates Red Crescent provides humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka flood affected people

Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has provided humanitarian aid to those affected by the floods and landslides in Sri Lanka recently, a statement said.

The ERC, in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Colombo and the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, is working on providing the best relief services to reduce the suffering of those affected and to improve the humanitarian situation there.

The move follows the directives of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, orders of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow-up of Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Emirates Red Crescent has begun implementing a program through which it can provide basic food needs, shelter materials and other supplies to families affected by the disaster to alleviate the tough humanitarian conditions they are facing.

A delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent continues its humanitarian and relief programs and operations daily through its initiatives in the worst affected flood areas.
