Walk for Values, designed with the intention of binding people together in the common cause of inculcating and spreading human values, was successfully held yesterday.

Starting at Nelum Pokuna at 6.30 a.m. and reaching the Galle Face Green, the walk was conducted in the spirit of sisterhood and brotherhood, pledging to practise a chosen value in daily lives and determined to inspire others to do the same. Organisers said every human being is endowed with five universal human values - truth, right conduct, peace, love and non-violence. These promote peace and harmony when put into practice. The great need of our time is to bring values and good character back into society.
