Batticaloa Vavunathivu Water Scheme opened

President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared open the Batticaloa Vavunathivu Water Scheme early this week, by unveiling the commemoration plaque of scheme and opening the pump house and the project’s administrative building.

Governor of the Eastern Province Rear Admiral Mohan Jayawickrama, Water Resources and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardana, Deputy Minister of Resettlement Vinayagamoorthi Muralidaran, Chief Minister of the Eastern Provincial Council Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiuping and Asian Development Bank Resident Director Rita Sulaiman participated in the event – Pix by Nalin Hewapathirana
