Badulla Pradeshiya Sabha member under arrest

A member of the Badulla Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested on for allegedly assaulting an officer of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

Police Media Spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana said a UPFA member of the Badulla Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested last afternoon in connection with the incident. The officer was assaulted when he had gone to inspect a tube well project being implemented in the Badulla Wineethagama area. The injured officer has been admitted to the Badulla Hospital. The suspect is due to be produced before court. The Badulla Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
