All party discussion on war crimes mechanism tomorrow

President Maithripala Sirisena has invited all party leaders into a special discussion tomorrow (22) to discuss a suitable war crimes investigation mechanism.

An open invitation has been sent to all political parties regardless of their presence in the Parliament.  

The discussion will make a room for all parties to express their views over the establishment of an international war crimes investigation mechanism. 

However, the final decision regarding Government’s actions on the formation of a domestic war crimes mechanism would be taken after this hypothetical meeting. Meanwhile the Parliament has also called a debate on the resolution co-sponsored by the US and Sri Lanka tomorrow.
