US pledges support to boost transport industry in SL

The United States has expressed interest to support the development of the transport industry in Sri Lanka.

This was conveyed when US Embassy Chief Political and Economic Officer Susan Walke called on Transport Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi this week.

Walke said that the US Government would extend all possible assistance to boost the transport industry in 

Sri Lanka.

Minister Wanniarachchi also outlined steps taken to improve the quality of the transport sector in Sri Lanka and the use of new technology for this purpose.

US Embassy Commercial Attaché Luis Salas and Minister’s Private Secretary Kanchana Jayaratne also participated in the discussion.
