A group of representatives of the TikTok platform in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (16) held discussions with top officials of the Prime Minister’s Office, focusing on how the social media platform can be used to implement in creating opportunities in economic platforms and digital education, going beyond entertainment.
The discussion also focused on common issues in the possible areas of using digital platforms.
The representatives pointed out the importance of the inclusion of legislation, research, and amendments into the curriculum on the knowledge of digital education and addressing digital hygiene and economic opportunities.
The Secretary to the Prime Minister further emphasised the need for immediate implementation of such collaborative efforts with ongoing reforms in the education sector.
The discussion was attended by TikTok Head of Government Relations and Public Affairs for South Asia Ferdous Al Mottakin and the Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, along with other officials.
