Tamil actors Radhika and Sarath Kumar merge party with Modi

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, veteran Tamil actor R. Sarath Kumar and his wife Radhika on Tuesday merged their Akila Indiya Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) with the BJP. 

In the presence of AISMK office-bearers and BJP Tamil Nadu Unit President K. Annamalai, Kumar merged his party with the saffron party.

Betting on the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar, addressing his party workers here, said Modiji would helm the nation further, towards fostering unity and nurture economic growth.

Ending the scourge of drugs and ensuring the welfare of the youths is bright under Modi’s leadership, he said.

Radhika Sarathkumar is the daughter of actor M.R. Radha and Geetha. Her father is from Chennai and her mother is a Sri Lankan Tamil.

She joined before the 2006 Assembly elections to join the AIADMK along with her husband R. Sarathkumar. She was dismissed from AIADMK for anti-party activities. She became the Vice President of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi.

Raadhika Sarathkumar is likely to be fielded from Virudhunagar Lok Sabha constituency as per Indian media reports.
