Six Tamil-speaking parties to unveil common political platform

Tamil-speaking political parties will today (13) announce a joint agreement to work together on matters of common concern, signalling a coordinated political approach on key national issues.

The parties said they have reached a consensus to collaborate on issues of mutual interest at the current juncture and will outline the agreement at a media briefing scheduled for today (13).

The alliance comprises the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC), Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA), Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK), Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA).

The parties are expected to provide further details on the scope and objectives of the initiative during the media briefing.
