Senior Prof. Nalin Abeysekera
Senior Prof. Nalin Abeysekera, a renowned marketing professional and former Dean of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) as well as a regular columnist of the Daily FT, passed away over the weekend.
He was an illustrious old boy of Ananda College, Colombo.
Senior Prof. Abeysekera was a Chartered Marketer and Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and a consultant with over 15 years’ experience. He was a Senior Lecturer for Strategic Management, Marketing, and Research Methodology with lecturing exposure in Dubai, Oman, and Qatar. He was serving as a visiting lecturer for MBA for leading national and international universities based in Sri Lanka. He was a coordinator for the MBA program at the OUSL.
In 2012, Senior Prof. Abeysekera was nominated as Best Asian Researcher – Finalist by the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Philippine. He was the recipient of three gold medals (Strategic Management, Marketing Management and Dissertation) for his performance in his Master’s degree from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He completed his PhD in the year 2013 in Leadership and Marketing.
