Aims to collect disaster-related information at Grama Niladhari level

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Wednesday launched a Disaster Information Centre at the Office of the Opposition Leader at Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Colombo 7, to collect information from areas affected by adverse weather conditions.

A statement from the Office said the primary objective of the mission is to gather information from disaster-affected areas at Grama Niladhari Division level.

Facilities have been provided for affected individuals to directly report their problems and needs to this information centre via telephone and WhatsApp on these numbers: 0759 570 570, 0761 660 570, and 0705 699 110.

The information centre will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and forward the information it receives to the relevant State authorities.
