Says bombing and shooting are two different words, but both are similar

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara has called for a fresh investigation into the attack on the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa and other violent incidents, noting bombing and shooting are equally violent acts.

Addressing a media briefing yesterday, Madduma Bandara referred to recent remarks by Malwathu Chapter Mahanayake Most Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera on the attack, expressing appreciation for the prelate’s comments.

“Though bombing and shooting are two different words, both are similar, as they are violent acts,” he said.

Madduma Bandara urged the authorities to reopen investigations into the Dalada Maligawa attack and other incidents, including the bombing of the Kataragama Perahera, in which 13 people were killed, according to him.
