Russian Health Minister in Sri Lanka from 3 May

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from 3 to 5 May for discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

During the visit, the Russian delegation is due to hold official talks with Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa on collaboration in pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, specialist training, and academic partnerships.

The delegation is also expected to meet Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath to discuss broader areas of bilateral engagement.

On 4 May, Murashko and his delegation are scheduled to visit the National Hospital of Sri Lanka in Colombo and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo, where discussions are expected to focus on academic exchanges, joint programs, and training initiatives.

The visit will also include engagements with representatives from Sri Lanka’s health sector, covering areas such as Ayurveda, health tourism, and advanced medical training, with both sides expected to explore avenues for further cooperation between the two countries’ Health Ministries.

The delegation is scheduled to depart Sri Lanka on 5 May.
