The All Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association yesterday announced price increases on several food items with effect from today, citing higher electricity tariffs.
Accordingly, the prices of fried rice and kottu have been increased by Rs. 30, while short eats will rise by Rs. 10. Milk tea and plain tea prices have been increased by Rs. 5.
Association Chairman Harshana Rukshan said the revision was driven by rising operating costs linked to electricity usage, noting that consumption in almost all outlets exceeds 180 units.
He said the increase was necessary for businesses to remain viable amid rising fuel and electricity costs.
