Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake takes over command of Southeastern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake assumed office as Commander Southeastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters yesterday.

Commodore Asanga Ranasuriya, who oversaw duties of the appointment as Acting Area Commander, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities to Rear Admiral Rathnayake at the office of Commander Southeastern Naval Area. Subsequently, the incoming Area Commander was accorded a Guard of Honour in precision with naval traditions.

Prior to taking over duties in the new appointment, Rear Admiral Rathnayake was at the Navy Headquarters, discharging duties as Director Naval Projects and Plans.a
