President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today assured that next generation Constitutional reforms will be considered in depth.

The remark follows the receipt of the Report of the Committee on Constitutional Reform by the President today.

“The contents of the Report will be considered in depth by the Government with a view to determining further measures to be taken,” said Secretary to the President Gamini Senarath in a brief statement.

Separately, the proposals for the 21st Amendment to the Constitution aimed at reducing the powers of the Executive President are to be presented to Cabinet when it meets today.

This will be the first Cabinet meeting since President Rajapaksa appointed 22 new Ministers last week.
