President refers Court of Appeal judges’ appointments to Constitutional Council

A recommendation submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to appoint High Court Judges Navaratne Marasinghe and Manjula Thilakaratne as judges of the Court of Appeal has been referred to the Constitutional Council.

On the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, President Dissanayake is also scheduled to appoint three judicial service officers as High Court judges yesterday. The officers to be appointed are Perumal Sivakumar, Anandi Kanagaratnam and Gnanesa Lalith Kannangara.

The appointments are being made based on recommendations submitted by the Judicial Service Commission.
