President Anura Kumara Disanayake yesterday revealed that Rs. 5 billion was allocated to the Paddy Marketing Board for the purchase of paddy.
Addressing a public rally in Polonnaruwa, the President said that paddy storage facilities worth 300,000 metric tons have undergone renovations.
He highlighted that this season’s harvest will be purchased at a very reasonable price. He affirmed the public that no one will ever face a problem regarding the price of paddy.
The President added that Lanka Sathosa too has made plans to purchase even more paddy from the farmers.
