President pays tribute to late Pope Francis at Vatican Embassy

President Anura Kumara Disanayake yesterday paid a visit to the Vatican Embassy to extend his condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.

Upon his arrival, the President was warmly received by Apostolic Nuncio of the Vatican to Sri Lanka Most Reverend Archbishop Brian N. Udaigwe. After a brief conversation with Archbishop Udaigwe, President Disanayake signed the condolence book, extending, on behalf of the Government and people of Sri Lanka, sincere sympathies to the global Catholic community on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
