President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met newly-appointed British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 in Egypt, President’s Media Division (PMD) noted.

As the PMD statement, President Wickremesinghe also held discussions with the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and Environment, Head of the delegation from the Republic of Korea, Na Kyung-Won.

It also added that President Wickremesinghe also held a bilateral discussion with the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor on the side-lines of COP27.

COP27 opened on Sunday with the key aim of ensuring full implementation of the Paris Agreement.
