President appoints new Chairman and members to HRCSL

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed retired Supreme Court Judge Vijith Malalgoda as Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL).

S.Y.M. Gomes, former diplomat A.L.A. Azeez, Dr. S.S.S.B.D.H. Jayawardena and Prof. T. Jayasingam were appointed as members of the Commission. Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake handed over the letters of appointment at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said. The appointments fill vacancies arising from the completion of the previous members’ terms of office.
