Overseas travellers can now request a COVID-19 Smart Vaccination Certificate online with the launch of a platform developed by the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) in collaboration with the Health Ministry and World Health Organization (WHO).
Persons who will be travelling overseas can submit the required information and images to the COVID-19 Smart Vaccine Certificate Portal and track progress as well. The smart vaccination certificate is issued only for foreign travels.
Meanwhile, the Epidemiology Unit states that COVID-19 vaccines were administered to 239,650 persons on Wednesday, raising the number of first doses administered to 12,220,331 and the number of second doses administered to 6,517,540.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 15,548 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm on Wednesday and 93,434 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. The first dose of the vaccine has been administered to a total of 9,639,824 persons and the second dose to 4,615,851 persons.
Fifteen persons received the Moderna first dose and 73,308 persons received the Moderna second dose on Wednesday. Since administration of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine began in Sri Lanka, 771,441 persons have received the first dose and 494,439 persons have received the second dose.
On Wednesday, 48,320 persons received the first dose of Pfizer and 196 persons received the second dose of the vaccine. The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to a total of 302,619 persons and the second dose to 104,531 persons.
The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 1,347,359 persons and the second dose to 881,230. This includes persons vaccinated on Wednesday, of which 6,332 persons received the first dose and 805 persons received the second dose. The Epidemiology Unit adds that 1,692 persons received the Sputnik V second dose on Wednesday, raising the total number of persons to have received the second dose of the vaccine to 25,489. The first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,088 persons.
