Parliament Secretariat yesterday said the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Health, Media and Women’s Empowerment has approved the Annual Performance Report of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services for 2024 and the Annual Reports of Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited for 2021 and 2023.
The approvals were made at the committee meeting held on 10 September in Parliament under the Chairmanship of Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe. In reviewing the Department of Probation and Child Care Services, members stressed the importance of introducing a monthly system to track the number of cases raised and the measures taken to resolve them. After detailed discussions, the committee endorsed the report.
When considering Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited’s reports, officials said modern silos funded by the World Food Programme and fitted with dryers and cooling systems were being introduced to reduce the risk of raw material contamination.
