Over 1,255 people killed, 12,000 injured in Iran in past nine days: Official

Ali Jafarian, Iran’s deputy health minister, has spoken to Al Jazeera about the number of people killed and injured in the past nine days in Iran:

More than 12,000 people have been wounded and 1,255 people killed

The victims’ age ranged from eight months to 88 years old

200 women are among those killed

168 children were killed in the Minab elementary school

55 healthcare workers were wounded and 11 killed, including four physicians, two nurses and three emergency workers
