Outstation students shine at 2024 GCE A/L examination

Lesanda Ransara Kumarage of Bandaranayake College, Gampaha, secured the first place in the Mathematics stream at the 2024 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination, the results of which were released over the weekend. 

Samithi Nimhara Hegodaarachchi of Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya secured the first place in the country in the Biology stream.

Senali Chamathka Ranasinghe of Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha, secured the first place in the Arts stream.

Ravihansa Rosairo of Mayurapada Vidyalaya, Narammala, secured first place in the Engineering and Technology stream.

Nethmi Navodya Marasinghe of Sandalanka Central College, Pannala, secured first place in the Biosystems Technology stream.

Amasha Dulari Perera of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, secured the first place in the Commerce stream.

This year, 9,458 students have obtained three A passes in the GCE A/L Examination.

Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara stated that 29,244 students have failed in all three subjects.

A total of 177,588 students have qualified for university admission based on this year’s A/L examination results.
