Outgoing Swiss envoy praises PM’s support to promote bilateral ties

Outgoing Swiss Ambassador Dominik Furgler paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at the Temple Trees on Wednesday.

He thanked the Prime Minister for continuously extending support to him during his diplomatic tenure during the challenging period of COVID pandemic and the global economic crisis.

The Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Furgler for his efforts to promote the friendship and cooperation between Switzerland and Sri Lanka during a difficult and challenging period.

Ambassador Furgler congratulated the government for the success in the economic recovery process. He said Sri Lanka tourism has a tremendous potential for growth.

Premier Gunawardena and Swiss Envoy discussed the bilateral projects, trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake also attended the meeting.
