One COVID-19 death was confirmed yesterday, raising the country’s COVID-19 fatalities to 527.

According to the Department of Government Information, a 73-year-old individual from Weligama tested positive for COVID-19 at the Matara Base Hospital and was admitted to the Hambantota General Hospital. However, he died yesterday of blood poisoning, multi-organ dysfunction and COVID pneumonia.
