New Chief of Defence Staff & Navy Commander call on President

Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who assumed duties as the new Chief of Defence Staff, called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday.

During this meeting, the President held a cordial discussion with the new Chief of Defence Staff and in keeping with the tradition the two men exchanged mementos. Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah, who assumed duties as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, also called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

During this meeting the President spoke with the new Navy Commander before exchanging mementos with him.
