NTC announces 2.5% bus fare reduction from next month

The National Transport Commission (NTC) yesterday announced that bus fares will be reduced by 2.5% with effect from next month.

This announcement was made during a meeting held between officials of the Transport Ministry and bus association representatives to discuss the annual revision of bus fares, scheduled to take effect on 1 July.

However, representatives of the bus associations have expressed their disagreement to the Government’s proposal. Even if a fare reduction is imposed, there will be no changes to the minimum and second-tier fares. Adjustments however will apply to fares beyond those tiers.
