National Institute of Education (NIE) Deputy Director General Darshana Samaraweera has been placed on compulsory leave in connection with the controversy surrounding the Grade 6 English module.
In addition, two other NIE officials have been interdicted over the matter. The actions follow investigations into alleged irregularities related to the module.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched a separate probe into the incident, while the NIE has also conducted an internal investigation. Further action is expected based on the findings of these inquiries.
