More chemicals linked to ICE production seized in Kandana

Sri Lanka Police yesterday seized over 100 kilos of chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacture of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) at a residence in Kandana following a cache of similar suspect chemicals over the weekend in Tangalle.

The white substances were found dumped on the premises of a house and were detected during investigations linked to a suspect already in custody. No arrests have been made in connection with the Kandana discovery. Police said the stock appeared similar to chemicals recovered during a raid on a property in Thalawa, Middeniya over the weekend.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Netolpitiya, Tangalle, police acting on information from residents discovered another consignment of white chemicals suspected to be used in ICE production. The seized stocks are to be tested further and investigations are continuing.
