Members named to Public Finance Committee

Deputy Speaker Ranjith Siyambalapitiya on Friday announced the names of the members of the Public Finance Committee.

The 21 members were nominated by the Committee of Selection headed by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

The members are MPs Bandula Gunawardena, Sarath Weerasekera, Vidura Wickramanayaka, Kanchana Wijesekera, Indika Anuruddha Herath, Nalaka Godahewa, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, Vijitha Herath, Dilan Perera, Kumara Welgama, Harsha de Silva, Manusha Nanayakkara, M.A. Sumanthiran, Kavinda Heshan Jayawardana, Mujibur Rahuman, Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, Isuru Dodangoda, Anupa Pasqual, Nalin Fernando, Ranjith Bandara and Suren Raghavan.

The members will elect a Chairman to the Committee at its first meeting.

MP Anura Yapa, who chaired the Public Finance Committee during the previous session, is among those nominated, but it is not clear if he will be reappointed as Chair.
