Maldives Airport Company Ltd., has won the contract to provide ground handling services to the national carrier—SriLankan Airlines in Malé International Airport, Maldives for three years.
The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the proposal by the Ports and Civil Aviation Minister to award the contract for three years from 1 April 2026.
The existing contract for providing ground handling services at Malé Airport is scheduled to expire on 31 March 2026.
Addressing the weekly post-Cabinet meeting media briefing yesterday, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa disclosed the estimated value of the contract for Malé Airport ground handling services is $ 16.19 million.
“A proposal has been obtained from the sole service provider that provides the ground handling services at the said airport for the provision of these services. Based on the recommendations of the Higher-Level Standing Procurement Committee, it recommended awarding the relevant contract to Maldives Airport Company Ltd.,” he added.
