Lanka Hospitals PLC has secured the Gold Award in the Health Sector at the prestigious TAGS Awards 2025. This historic achievement marks the third consecutive year the institution has been recognised for its world-class reporting standards, a feat that coincides with the 60th “Diamond Chapter” anniversary of the awards organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).

Under the theme “Diamond Chapter: The Grand Honour of Excellence,” the 2025 TAGS Awards represent a sixty-year legacy of benchmarking Transparency, Accountability, Governance, and Sustainability. In an era of heightened stakeholder expectations, Lanka Hospitals’ sustained dominance in this category validates a reporting culture that is not just compliant, but transformative.

Trust built in black and white

The recognition serves as an independent validation of Lanka Hospitals’ commitment to building trust through absolute clarity. By presenting a fair, balanced, and forward-looking account of its performance, the hospital ensures that stakeholders—from investors to the patients who rely on its care—can engage with the institution with unwavering confidence.

“Three years. Three Golds. One unwavering standard. This is the result of a collective commitment to leadership and transparency,” said Lanka Hospitals Group Managing Director Chaaminda Kumarasiri. “At Lanka Hospitals, excellence is never accidental; it is structured, measured, and delivered. This third consecutive win at the Diamond Chapter of TAGS underscores our focus on delivering a narrative that reflects how we create and sustain value for the nation.”

Strategic finance and disciplined governance

The 2025 awards, which for the first time integrated advanced AI-driven evaluation criteria, assessed organisations on the quality, clarity, and credibility of their annual reports. For Lanka Hospitals, this win highlights the robustness of its governance disclosures and the integrity of its financial information.

Group Chief Financial Officer M.B.G. Wickramasiri said: “Winning the Gold award for the third consecutive year is an affirmation of the rigour we apply to our financial stewardship. In a complex economic environment, we have remained steadfast in our dedication to best-in-class corporate governance. Transparency is more than a duty; it is a core value that ensures our accountability to our shareholders, our investors, and the Sri Lankan public.”

A legacy of clinical and operational leadership

Lanka Hospitals continues to set new standards in the healthcare sector, underpinned by its prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation — the globally recognised gold standard in healthcare quality and patient safety — and the distinction of being the first medical institution in Sri Lanka to be reaccredited by JCI. From earning the prestigious College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation for its laboratory network to pioneering “Next Gen Healing” through cutting-edge medical technology, the hospital’s operational success is mirrored in its reporting excellence.

The award was received on behalf of the Lanka Hospitals team by Group Managing Director Chaaminda Kumarasiri and Group Chief Financial Officer M.B.G. Wickramasiri at a grand finale held at the Shangri-La, Colombo.
