Labour Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe officiates at the launch of new website
The Labour Ministry last week launched its new improved web site www.labourmin.gov.lk with the aim of bringing its services closer to the public in a more efficient and transparent manner.
This new website launched under the patronage of Labour Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe, provides the public with a wide range of facilities.
It provides easy access to accurate information on the amended labour laws and various programs and projects implemented by the Ministry, as well as the ease of downloading various applications related to the labour sector, including the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Wages Board decisions, gazette notifications and circulars, etc.
This website, which can be accessed in the three languages of Sinhala, Tamil and English via mobile phones and computers, also provides the ability to submit complaints to the Ministry online regarding their employee rights and workplace issues .
The website can be accessed through and this new website also provides access to the websites of the Department of Labour, Department of Manpower and Employment Security, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and National Institute of Labour Studies, which are under the Ministry. This project, which was implemented as a step towards digitalisation of public service, enables the public to obtain many services they need without having to visit the Ministry.
Coinciding with the launch of this website, the facility to check the progress of applications submitted by members to receive Employees› Provident Fund benefits online was also launched through the Digital EPF service .
