LG Polls on 6 May; over 100 parties in the fray

The Election Commission yesterday announced that the upcoming Local Government (LG) Elections will be held on 6 May.

The acceptance of nominations for the LG Elections concluded at 12 noon and 107 political parties and 49 independent groups have submitted their nominations.

The accepting of nominations for the 2025 Local Government Elections commenced at district election offices on 17 March and concluded yesterday.

The polls will see candidates vying for 336 Local Government institutions.
