Japanese Defence Minister meets State Minister of Defence

Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera met State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene at the Ministry this week.

During the meeting a cordial discussion was held between the visiting Japanese Defence Minister and State Minister Wijewardene.

Ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka Kenichi Suganuma, Additional Secretary – Parliamentary Affairs, Policy and Planning, Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of the Army and Air Force, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Director General Coast Guard and Ministry officials were also present at the occasion.

The Japanese Defence Minister arrived in the country on a two-day official visit. This is the first time that a Japanese Defence Minister is visiting Sri Lanka.
