The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of Iraj Chaminda Pathiraja, an officer in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS), as the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration on a permanent basis.
Pathiraja had previously served in the post on a full-time acting basis following Cabinet approval granted on 19 May 2025.
The proposal to this effect was presented by Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala.
